Assembly House




Assembly House is an artist-led studio space and gallery in Leeds, which prides itself in providing an inviting public space in which visitors can feel comfortable and at ease socialising and engaging with art.

Motivated by an ethic of collaboration, self-organisation, openness and critical thinking, the studio aims to provide affordable workspace and facilities for creatives, and to act as a wider community hub for creative and critical practice within the arts.

Situated in a historic textiles mill along the Leeds Liverpool canal, the studio hosts a regular public programme of exhibitions, workshops and events, which explore a breadth of practices and approaches, as part of a commitment to support the development and display of art & design.

In addition to the public programme Assembly House provides studios for a varied group of about 30 creatives, with work ranging from fine art painting and sculpture to illustration, photography and design. Along with resources that currently including photography studio and darkroom, and plans for printmaking facilities.

Public openings vary throughout the year based on our programme, full information can be found on our website, newsletter, promotional literature and social media.

Generally exhibitions open the last Thursday of every month from 6-9pm then 1-4 Daily through to the Sunday. Viewings outside of this can be arranged by appointment.
