When Liam Tarbett saw an available shop to let in Chapel Allerton, he saw an opportunity to bring great tasting fish to a new audience.

You’ll never find frozen fish at Tarbett’s- all of their fish is freshly delivered every day. It’s all part of the fresh is best philosophy, and the people of Leeds travel from far and wide just to sample that ethos.

Not only is their fish fresh but Tarbett’s also aims to source it locally, and that’s why the majority of their fish are caught in Yorkshire, from places such as Whitby and Scarborough. Tarbett’s is a big believer in sustainability as line caught fish is not only more environmentally friendly, being kinder to the seabedsĀ and stock reserves, but it provides better quality fish.

Specialising in sushi grade fish such as tuna and salmon, as well as live wild crab and lobster, Tarbett’s fully trained staff can prepare all their fish with perfection, from butterflying to skinning and pin-boning.
